A Week in a Nutshell December 5-9, 2022

We got some new sand this week, so we had fun building and playing with the sand. We were trying to fill and dump with the sand. We even explored trying to make castles.

We continue to explore with our loose parts this week, by watching how we build, use them, explore with them and including animals to our play. We are discovery how things fit and how they can be place on different texture too.

We used our magnets on the light cube and watching the colours change and reflection from the magnets.

We got some ABC magnets in our room this week, I introduce them so the children can place them on the door. It was a challenging that the black side goes down and the white is facing them. The toddlers kept trying over and over again sometimes it would fall to the ground.

We used real tools outside today, we used different screwdrivers and hammers. We encourage and showed them how to turn the screwdrivers. The toddlers were so interest in learning on how to use the tools.

We made a sensory bin, with adding gems into a bag and adding gel inside. We explored with moving it around with our fingers.

We are very interest in drawing pictures of our family. We been working on drawing circles with the toddlers this week. Encouraging them to try somewhere simple.

Building ball mazes with our friends and watching it go down.

We been cooking and exploring in the kitchen. By role modeling how we use the tools in the kitchen and placing the food on the plates.

We love pretending to pour water into the cups. So we practiced our pouring and drinking into cups. Teaching them to focus and watch what they’re doing.
