When it comes to painting, many of the preschoolers have been experimenting with the way they can paint and how they can combine the colours. We provided them with a reference to paint different shapes which a few of them tried to replicate.
Continuing to use the beads with the pipe cleaners, the preschoolers made caterpillars. They threaded them on and closed off the ends to keep the beads on.
After exploring liquid sensory materials in the bin, we thought it would be interesting to see what the preschoolers did with soft materials such as cotton balls and yarn. With this activity, each preschooler used the materials differently such as filling and dumping or seeing how much they could fit into a tube.
Lately we have been encouraging the preschoolers to see what they can build using the big wooden blocks. From building roads to balancing blocks on each other, it’s interesting to see how they choose to use them.
We added on to the construction vehicle role-play by giving the preschoolers more materials to interact with such as craft sticks, shells, and regular sticks. The driver became more about transferring them to different spots.
After noticing a few preschoolers tossing the ball over the shelf in the gazebo, we set up a hoop for them to throw the ball through. Many of them were focused on accuracy, standing on the bench to put the ball through instead of tossing.
After success walking along the tape balance line, we decided to challenge the preschoolers by making a zig zag with the tape for them to walk along.
