Our week in a nutshell – October 11 – 14

Some preschool friends practiced painting this week with inspiration from their toys. They noticed some colourful cubes in the classroom and decided to paint them on their papers. First they chose paint colours that matched the cubes, then they painted squares with them.

The preschoolers also built some structures this week. Some friends worked together to make space stations out of magnets for their spaceships. Others used wooden blocks and explored different shapes to make different kinds of structures.

On the playground we made a new obstacle course. We stuck a strip of tape to the ground to work as a balance beam, and the children practiced their balance as they walked across it.

Some of the preschoolers also made nets with hula hoops to throw balls into. They used crates to step on so they could reach the net better, and practiced throwing all different sized balls.
