This week Seth brought in a spider he caught at home and shared the excitement with other friends! At the end of the day we put the black spider in the snails aquarium and peers checked on him everyday!!
On Monday we noticed that snails have been eating the carrot and their poop has turned orange from black. So cool!!! Friends noticed that snails can stretch their bodies and make a bridge between pieces of woods and blocks. Besides, we realized that snails are having many tiny babies... Lots of exciting things is going on in the aquarium!!
This week it rained a lot and we know rainy days are the best for catching worms. We brought in many earth worms and created a worm hole/jar to look at the life of worms! Friends spray water on top of the jar so the worms jar stays wet all the time.
We also did a search on google about earth worms and learned quite a bit about them!
We keep taking care of our plants. bird seeds we planted are sprouting and potatoes are getting taller and taller!
Preschoolers love bubbles and realized that sometimes we can see the rainbow colors in a bubble. So we brought in DVDs and reflected light on them to learn more about light, rainbow, reflection and shadows!
Preschoolers love to take part in races and they all want to win! We asked them to create their very own ribbons to receive them when they win in the biking or running race!!Through this activity we encouraged them to use and improve their cutting, tracing and gluing skills.
The new spider, inspired some new art activity. Peers created their spiders through hand printing, glued eyes on them and painted some spider webs!
We had fun, creating things with play dough, built structures, solved puzzles and enjoyed role play...
Children love to put the chairs together and make pretend train, bus, plane and boats. We encourages them to trace the alphabets and create signs for the destination they want to travel to such as grocery store, island, park or a bus stop!
We noticed that Eliza's drawing of a ladybug is evolving! Now the ladybug has a head; sometimes it is happy or sad! and it has a mouse friend recently!! Gordon loves to draw scary spiders with dangerous stingers! Keshet also tries to give a title to her paintings; once she painted sunshine and once she did a town with many houses! Well done Ellie, Keshet and Gordon!!
Outdoor we noticed that 2 baby doves have hatched and were so excited to see them being fed by mommy and daddy birds!
We blew lots of bubbles...
Socialized with friends and had sun bath...
Made obstacle courses and marble mazes...
Davis and Seth love to use tools and repair or build stuff!
We had a very busy and fun week... Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!
