This week the children enjoyed using foamies to create some lovely winter scenes. We are practicing "first you glue and then you stick".

They're ability to create intentional and recognizable pictures continues to develop week by week. Some peers are drawing detailed picture's while others enjoy more abstract creations.

They are getting quite good at rinsing in between colors when painting and we are encouraging the children to plan what they want to paint before painting.

The children continue to explore the magnets, they are learning how to move them like magic and are fostering their literacy skills with the alphabet magnets.

Some peers were trying to make sand castles in the dry sand. They took turns adding water and were very excited to then make sand castles!

They love to add color to the water as well as a variety of tools and materials that support fine motor development, self regulation and imagination.

The addition of real band aids had children using them on their own real boo boos,

as well as on the the babies. After applying the band aid they comforted their baby just like a  mommy and daddy does.

Imitating adult roles continues with friends preparing and feeding their babies, and washing dishes. What big boys and girls!

Ramps continue to engage the children as does building with both big and small blocks.

These opportunities foster social and emotional skills like turn taking and self regualtion.

Outdoors, we were so excited to find snow and ice on the playground. We love to eat it!

Collecting and throwing leaves  is so much fun too!

We continue to foster social and gross motor skills through Octopus tag, What Time is it Mr. Wolf, Hide n Seek or group games that the children make up on their own.

Their creativity is endless when creating obstacle courses.

The addition of crates allows for more peers to see the construction that is so popular and it's great to see children challenging themselves and trying new things.
